Nathanaël Bergèse, Composer and Music Supervisor
Arranger and pianist, Nathanaël Bergèse has been writing for all types of ensembles for the last twenty years. Among other performances, he composed the soundtrack for the collection En sortant de l’école (season 1) awarded at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in 2014. He also provided musical supervision for several projects, notably for Je sors acheter des cigarettes – Osman Cerfon/Miyu Productions, nominated for the César Award 2020.
Original soundtracks for animated films
In 2018, Nathanaël Bergèse is signed on for the animated feature The Tower (aka Wardi), by Mats Grorud. The film went on to win the best soundtrack award at the Lisbon MONSTRA Festival in 2019.
From silent cinema to advertising
His talent has a large range. Notably, Nathanaël composes original music for short films (Les Mals Aimés – Hélène Ducrocq/Citron Bien cinéma, La pêche miraculeuse – Fabrice Luang-Vija/Fargo, Un lynx dans la ville – Nina Bisyarina/Folimage). But he also puts on live music concerts for silent movies. At the other end of the spectrum, Nathanaël creates music for advertising and constructs sound identities for brands. He even composes music for permanent exhibitions (À bord – Cité du Vin, Bordeaux).
Composer, editor and teacher
In 2008, he founded Adelie Prod, a musical edition company as well as a sound design studio dedicated to motion picture, located at the animated picture center La Cartoucherie, in Bourg-lès-Valence, Drôme, France.
Trained at the Villeurbanne conservatory along with the Conservatoire de Lyon, he also graduated in Jazz and in music composition for the image at the Valence conservatory, where he is now the head of department.
Since Septembre 2020, he works with the CNC Commissions as a musical expert, providing additional help in original music for short films.
